massaging capsule というブランド名は、鷲田清一の「服は今にも炸裂しそうな身体を包み込む殻である」という言葉と、マーシャル・マクルーハンの「メディアはマッサージである」という言葉に着想を得ています。

服の持つ「魂への機能性」を最も大切な事と考えます。ウェアラブルでなければならない、という条件とのギリギリのバランス成立地点を追求しています。
脆く傷付きながら懸命に自立する人物像をイメージし、そのような人たちが強くあるための殻としての服をデザインしています。

The name *massaging capsule* was inspired by Kiyokazu Washida’s description of clothing as “a shell that envelops the body on the verge of bursting” and Marshall McLuhan’s phrase “The Medium Is the Massage”.

At the heart of my work is what I call clothing’s “functionality for the soul”. I explore the fine line between this deeper purpose and the practical need for garments to be wearable.

My designs are inspired by people who, despite their fragility and vulnerability, struggle to stand on their own. I create clothing as a protective shell for these individuals, something that helps them find the strength to face the world without having to hide their vulnerability.
